I have done css position changing rollovers numerous times, but for some reason this one is causing me some trouble in IE6. I have had some people tell me its fine in IE6 but others say the position change on the hover is laggy in this broswer.
This only happens when there is a background-image in the parent block.
However, when I move that same backgound image to the body instead, the lag of the position changes is gone.
Very confused about this one..

I inluded both urls (backgound included, and no bg)for viewing. The css in internal for convinient debugging.

Why would my css rollover nav list be laggy in IE6 when a background-image is added to the <ul>'s container? [dizonstudio.com...] compared to this one [dizonstudio.com...]

I experienced no delay on either page.

I tried the page in Mozilla and got no lag on either page. This message is a duplicate, created from my first attempt to modify my prior post.

At least look at the source before you bother replying to a post. The gray is a background-image, and *no* they dont need preloading because the arrow is another background-image with a position change on hover.

bada - Welcome to WebmasterWorld

urls are against the TOS [webmasterworld.com] here, so it may be removed...

but your description was enough to make me think it's linked to something similar recently [webmasterworld.com] / other half of discussion [webmasterworld.com] ...

bada:

Oh, so sorry, was in a hurry, glanced at the source and saw the hex, thought it was the gray. Had you waited a minute, you would see I modified my post soon after. Post haste, one could say.

On the other hand you could be a bit more courteous to those who are trying to help.

Thanks Suzy I checked in my internet options and it was at "automatically". I even gave the PC a bigger swap file. Also happens on some other PCs with IE6. The problem remains. I appreciate your help just the same, thanks. :>
