Hi Greg - Welcome to WebmasterWorld

You're in the right place ;)

try some of the threads in the CSS Library [webmasterworld.com]

There's a crash course in there too and loads of other pointers and references..

Personally I don't bother with books on computer related stuff anymore - they get dated so quickly these days. There's loads of websites devoted to CSS, try searching for "CSS layouts" for example, either on this forum or your favorite SE.

Welcome to webmaster world, it's better than a large stack of books.

Hi greg

This forum! :)

Apart from what has been mentioned already www.w3schools.com/css/ was a great resource for me when I started. The www.csszengarden.com/ is inspirational and www.alistapart.com/about/ is an excellent magazine for CSS and other web related articles.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Greg!

Here's another vote for csszengarden.com. It's an awesome site that shows the power of CSS. Another great site that pushes the limits and deals with the limitations of CSS is positioniseverything.net. Literary Mooses's CSS Destroy! site (www.literarymoose.info/=/css.xhtml) also has some fun stuff.

Don't worry if you don't understand the specifics right away--just look them over to see what can be done. As you grow more proficient, you can delve into the details. Until then, just be inspired. :)
