Hey! I just got a Google beach towel for being a good adwords advertiser (and to let me know that they upgraded and that I might want to spend more money ;) ). Very fluffy. Anyone else get a nice summer gift?

I just went to the beach a few weeks ago but my kids will love taking this to the pool for the remainder of summer.

Thanks Google!

If you don't mind me asking what are you spending with Google monthly?

Okay, are the advertisers that are receiving gifts from Google spending over $1000/Month?

I just got a Google t-shirt for talking to them about my adwords experiences. ;)

We spend MUCH more than $1000/month. ;0)

I suppose it is a rather expensive beach towel but it's the company's money that pays for it.

Yeah. I don't think it is worth becoming an adwords advertiser to those levels just for the beach towel. ;)

No goodies here yet. Would probably be delivered by Canada Post, and they've been slower than molasses lately.

The merchandising side of things is very erratic.

We went to see our account representative and managed to get hold of some powerpoint presentations to help us understand the new interface better, we got a nice book on Adwords which was a nice gift for one of our new prospective clients, we did get some t-shirts and stickers (but only because we asked), we've been told there is more stuff ordered for the UK, but that it does take time to come in.

The added value service is the most important thing we get from Google.

Hehe! Call me old fashioned, but am I the only one who thinks that if you wear/use something with somebody's ad on it, they should pay you.

Even thoughs its so accepted now, Im still as stunned as i was the first time i saw people wearing handbags and sweaters with some brand name emblazoned all over it in big letters.

I also got a beach towel. Just shows what you get when you spend ~$20,000 per month with a company. Perhaps if we up our budget to $40,000 per month, we just might rate two beach towels. Maybe I should call overture (we spend about the same on Overture), and tell them that unless I get a towel from them too, I am moving all of my business to adwords lol.

i ended up with the towel and a beach chair. Reclines nicely...If I didn't have to wait so long for my Adwords accounts to upload..i could spend more time on the beach using the chair and towel.

Hey *MY* beach towel came in too.

I ran around the office and smugly showed it to people.

They did not seem too impressed, but i still like it.

Thanks,

Word on the street is that there is a hidden tracking device in each beachtowel and reclining chair, this in turn is linked to the Google toolbar and your adwords account.

I would advise everyone NOT to use any item, and instead to forward them to ME, as moderator I will kindly make sure that they are handed over to the relevant authority.

Wow! You would think they would give you a Google Bean Bag Chair for that amount of spending!

Shak:

LOL! Actually that isn't a camera, it's just to help them know about your color preferences, so next time they can send people toweles that doen't clash with one's Speedos. Hehehe. ;P

It has come to our attention that Shak is secretly involved in company espionage and would like these tracking devices for a better understanding into the inner workings of Google.

Please have all items mailed directly to me for quality control.

Do not let these items fall into the wrong hands! ;)

I got a blanket off of Google two months ago. But that's because I'm a "Google Researcher", and Google Answers was one year old, nothing to do with Adwords :-) A very nice blanket it is too, although it seems to attract fluff and lint extremely well.

I get such a kick out of threads like this. I want y'all to know that I haven't met a single Google employee with a new beach towel. ;)

I too am an AdWords advertiser. No towel yet though...

I just got my towel today. Came via UPS.

I just wish it was a reward for creating good quality content instead of for giving them thousands of dollars of my hard earned cash!

I like it anyway.
