Google AdWords

Anyone has tried it ?

Hi everyone!!!
I create a campaign with Google AdWords about 1 year ago and I can say that it's not so good if you conduct it with the option : Exact Query Matching and even expensive, I can imagine how expensive could be with a Phrase Matching or a Keyword Matching!!!
I would like to know if anyone has good experiences with it.

No. I use the Phrase Matching option, more as a research tool, rather than getting targetted traffic, as i ran a large campaign and for 4000 + listings in 3 months, i got less than 1% click throughs.

I had different results from keywords, some got 14% and some 1% the average is of less than 1%

I think that it's god for impressions because I got a lot of them but the clickthrough is really low.

You need to set a GOAL for CTR
Put in a lot of KWs then REMOVE any that do not pull at a rate that is accepable. Core KWs seem to get the best results.

right Mike, that's what I did and probably I'll remove those unuseful KWs.
The real thing I would like to know is if this service will go on or not because it seems to be still in its beta version.

I've had reasonable success with AdWords, nothing exceptional, but worth the money spent.

I was suggested by one of the moderators to post my figures for the adword campaign.
I did give me some costumers. And the figures are not to bad:

internetboekhandel.nl 1.99%
kunstboekhandel.nl 1.28%
oorlogsboeken.nl 1.54%
scheepvaartboeken.nl 1.23%

The first one is the one with the majority of clicks.
For you not dutch people, it means internetbookstore.
The other ones are for: Art books, war books and ships.
Yes I do run a dutch bookstore, I own several urls that have to do with books (about 100 .nl/.com domains).

I won't post the keywords I use (competition is ready this too :-). But I do try to minimise to pop-up with unwanted search words.

The click through percent varys greatly by the time of the month. During the week of the update, impressions raise dramatically as webmasters search for their new results. This is not targeted traffic, this is your competition.

You do need to look at your click throughs and look at the quality of traffic the adwords program is bringing to your site.

You probably have a 15% click through on real traffic. What percent of these clicks are converting into a sales......

Adwords and targeted traffic are like GOLD...
