7.38am (London, UK)

Make sure you check your adwords account at least once a day, especially Today.

You never know what sort of bugs could be taking place...

Hey, I'm glad that people like the new interface! I know that we wanted to make the new interface have more features, but also easier to use. Delve into it and then let us know what you think. :)

It is awesome - a true time saver.

Just a few days back I was thinking that would be nice if Google could improve AW campaign management, then, bam, here it is!

Thanks G people

One criticism:

When creating an ad group it's very easy to use the old PowerPost notation: keyword ** [site.com...] It doesn't seem as easy to bulk modify existing PowerPost URL's. The auto-fill feature is nice, but it's not always as good as being able to paste in a block of keyword and URL combinations.

Now if PowerPost had an extra field for ad-box title (first line) text, that'd be rok. Currently it's still pretty cumbersome to split of each worthy keyword into its own ad group.

slud,

if you still want to do traditional power posting it can be done.

Where it shows your average CPC there is an edit button, that will take you to the place where you can drop in the excel output.

if you click on "Edit keywords" at the top, rather then selecting keywords and clicking edit, you can still paste a big block of powerposted keywords, and refine thim with the estimator without having to reload the textarea seperately, much quicker this way.

Only wish I'd remember the column sorting, would make it a kick ass research tool too.

Man.

For what it's worth, I freaking LOVE this. Way to go, Google. So far, I just think everything's better, but if I run into problems, I'll be sure to post 'em.

a couple of sugestions if I can

1) this page
[adwordstest.google.com...]

in Mozilla ( and I guess the build date is 2003/06/24)

shows an endless page that takes lot's of scrolling to get to the bottom of it, does anybody see the same?

2) on the same page, under

Include information on only these keywords

having drop-down list of keywords you use for the campaign choosen could be helpful

3) and yes, the ability to hide negatives would be useful too

4) and one thing I have been dreaming about - ability to choose specific time-zone settings (like GMT +10 or GMT - 8 for each campaign) would make comparing adwords' reports to server logs easier

just my 2 cents, other than that the new interface is great :)

Thanks for jumping in a few posts earlier GoogleGuy - nice to see you in this Forum again!

I join GoogleGuy in saying that I hope you will continue to let us know what you think. I'm happy to see all the positive comments, and the suggestions for improvement as well.

Like it all so far - and the addition of graphical charts is wonderful.

One advantage of the new format is that it's easier for my clients to understand how Google ads are benefiting them, especially if i include a custom chart or two in my reports.

Overture was the one that needed a backend overhaul but Google even beat them to that.

I understand Overture is going to make some improvements to their backend in a few weeks (Boy, do they need it!) but Google just raised the bar on them again.

"Google just raised the bar on them again"

Overture is preparing for the high jump but Google comes ready for the pole vault...

Definitely a nicer look and some great features (the reports-by-e-mail feature is particularly cool, and I do hope folks don't abuse this by requesting 40 zillion reports daily).

However, I did notice one bug:
I have always bid from 5-15 cents on every keyword, without exception. However, on the Average CPC graphs that get drawn on my reports, daily averages are listed as high as 30 cents, and consistenly much higher than the 7 cent or so actual average.

We shall see.

One for sure is the bar is very much being raised, but let's not get carried away with the backslaps just yet.

Under the old interface there's the option to "Show everything I've deleted" and this shows deleted creatives.

Anyone know if there's a way to do this using the new interface? Maybe it's staring me in the face, but I can't see a way to show deleted creatives.

Anyone know if there's a way to do this using the new interface?

Underneath where it lists your Campaign Daily Budget is a drop down box where you can specify what you want to view.

Haven't had that happen, but I did have the new interface crash the other day, returning an error message. when I tried to view anything -- but the page of text at the top was still there, with the link to "switch back." Did that, and everything was fine using the old setup. But I had lost everthing I'd done in setting up a new campaign for a client; about 15 minutes work disappeared.

I feed the old download into an analysis system. Any chance of getting the "classic" download?

sanity - what you say in message 49 only gives the option to show either:

All Adgroups
Only active AdGroups
All but deleted AdGroups

When you are at the individual AdGroup level there doesn't appear to be the option to view deleted creatives. In the old interface they show up greyed out when you select the "Show everything I've deleted" option.

Anyone see a way to see them with the new interface?

Here's another "how do you do it?" In the new interface, you can name an Ad Group when you create it. Anyone see how to change the name later?

The bad news about it is that in the old system the groups would appear "named" as the first of your keywords -- so at least you could identify them. Being able to give them a "customized" name is great, but I don't see how to change the ones that now have the default "Ad Group 1," "Ad Group 2," etc. to useful names. As it is, I'm finding it hard to remember the difference between Ad Group 2 and Ad Group 14!

When you are looking at a Campaign Summary you can check Ad Groups and then hit 'Rename'.

Ah, thanks Col. Pretty obvious now that you mention it, but for some reason I never saw that button! Guess I was looking for something when the ad group itself was open, like the way you've always renamed a campaign... not used to these functions that act on multiple selections.

Certainly it's an improvement; just taking some getting used to.

Certainly it's an improvement; just taking some getting used to.

Which is why it's useful to be able to work in both for a few weeks, so you can work stuff out and hit the new interface as an expert when it's the only one available.

Yep, WD. In fact at first I did very little in the new setup, because it took longer and I was in too much of a hurry to get stuff done to figure it out. Over the last couple of days, though, I haven't used the old interface at all.
