Adwords inconsistently restricting trademarked terms?

Am new to adwords and have just had my first ad rejected as it contains a trademarked term.

The problem is that the service I am selling is the opportunity to try out for yourself the object of the trademark. (Let's just say it would be very expensive to buy your own)

Has anyone had a similar experience? Are there any ways round it? I've seen other adverts on adwords that are using the same trademarked terms as I am, also unconnected with the trademark owner.

Often times it depends on what country you are in, and what countries you are targetting.

For example - I am in the USA, and the trademarked terms I use can only be used if I target only the USA and Canada. If I add any other countries to my campaign, my add will not show.

It's best to talk to an adrep about your individual situation, and ask if there are country specific rules for your terms.

Anyway, you should write G and explain your motivations. Many have requested an exception and most of the times they succeeded. Just give it a try!
