Change to Adwords Display Format?

As of three days ago, when I search Google I'm not seeing Adwords ads on the right hand side anymore, but up to four (maximum) at the very bottom, underneath the organic search results, in a highlighted background colour (and sometimes one at the very top). That's a maximum of 5 per page!

This is new, totally different - is anybody else seeing this?

I'm seeing the same on the German search results pages. I'm not seeing it on English results pages. Also I've noticed that the new format appears in IE, but is unchanged in Firefox explorer.

I WAS seeing it from Australia, therefore in English, in both IE and Firefox (I run both), but now they've both gone back to normal - is this just Google testing different formats?
