- 30 new keywords to target your ads more effectively to users
- 12 keyword deletions to eliminate extra impressions and improve your
clickthrough rate
- 22 cost-per-click (CPC) adjustments to maximize your ad exposure
I was linked to a nice interface within adwords with the proposed changes and was asked to accept or decline. Some were to increase CPC from .10c to up to .53c while others were new keyword suggestions at .01c! What I am curious of did this come from a human reviewing my ads/keywords? A bot? Either way I took their suggestions across the board and hope to see an improvement. I am also curious why I was chosen for "help"...random? "Underperfoming" ads? I was pretty happy with my keywords CTR etc. We'll see!
We also went thru "proposed changes" with G..
They gave us tons more keywords, lot's more clicks, no additional conversions... (no surprise actually)
we already spend about 150K a year on this, so I don't think they "help" based on how much money you spend with them...
just my 2-cents
thanks!
Recently my adwords advisor offered to come up with a set of negative keywords for my campaign. I was thrilled - free work. She claimed to have worked for several days on the project, However when I went through the list she gave me, it was full of some of my highest converting keywords. Needless to say I just rejected the entire proposal on the spot. She was none to happy.
I say all of this to say that you are the expert. You know (or at least you should know) what's making you money and what it not.
Well now I am confused. Many of the suggestions that I accepted are now "Inactive for search" and asking for more money So, not even Google understands their "quality" scores?
MediaSpree there was very simillar situation earlier.
Patnermine complains here [webmasterworld.com], that although the Google started his campaign he has troubles:
Several adword groups suddenly had keywords go to in trial or on hold. Now many adowrds in a group are disabled. These adowrds are the precise results of Adwords Support's Campaign Optimisation.Logic says "These guys know what they're doing", so I used the help form to ask what was going on. I have not TOUCHED these campaigns since they were "expert created".
So, it is a dejavu or they use now the same (or very simillar) broken algo for minimum bids as they were using for On hold - On trial earlier.
All in all I agree with the comment that we know our campaigns best and the computerised models G uses do not always work.
