So we encountered a very strange billing issue last week that I was just curious if anyone else had experienced; not sure if it was a systemic issue, one that just randomly effected our particular billing information or what.

Anyhow, we have a handful of accounts that are paid for by our Amex card. I checked our Amex statement online last Friday the 14th and noticed that there were no charges from Google since the 4th (all other charges are present and card is in perfect standing), which is far from right because there are generally 2-3 charges per day. Our accounts had been running fine and I checked Google's billing reports and they reported all charges having gone through, yet obviously nothing had shown up on the Amex end.

Called Amex and they said everything was fine but noticed that starting that day (the 14th) all of a sudden about 50-60 charges all started coming through in rapid succession, totalling about $50k in spending. Basically all of the last 10 days or so of charges had been queued up somewhere and all poured in at the same time.

No real big deal on our end, but it was a very strange occurrence, and some conspiracy theorists over here are convinced that this was actually a bit of financial finagling to delay revenue for some stock-related reasons (their fiscal quarter ended March 31 but who knows the details of when things are reported, etc.).

Anyhow, mostly just curious if anyone else noticed a big gap in charges actually posting on CC accounts?

Sorry for the long post!

Mike

We have had the same thing happen. No idea why but it can really trigger the fraud check.
