The clickthrough rate (CTR) for this keyword does not meet the minimum

What does this mean in the modern adword world of inactive/active status

Ad diagnostic tool reports:

"The clickthrough rate (CTR) for this keyword does not meet the minimum performance requirement."

What does this mean in the modern adword world of inactive/active status?

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is a known bug that appears occasionally.

My guess is you have a keyword that performs well usually but has suffered a dramatic reduction in impressions for a day/few days. If this is so it should return to normal delivery within a week of the problem arising.

If it's a different scenario then we (and Google) would like more details so it can be avoided/fixed.

I don't think it's a bug. Google will make that keyword inactive if you don't meet a minimum click-through rate. I think the threshold is 0.5% for ads ranked #1, and it goes down for lower-ranked ads. What was your CTR?

Lil Noodles,

2.9% CTR ,Avg. Position 4.0, Impressions approximately 194,000, clicks approximately 4,000.

In the old days keywords simply stopped running when you didnt meet certain criteria. But my understanding is that with the implementation of the new active/inactive regime, you had an oppurtunity to reactivate a keyword by raising the bid. The word is still active, its just not getting any impressions.

You describe the "classic" scenario for this problem, I'd still send a support email and then let us know when it returns to normal.

Good luck with it.
