Singular vs plural for negative kws

Really quick question ...

My site is very specific and only the plural of the main keyword applies.

I plan to use the single kw in plural form as a broad match and then have a very comprehensive negative kw list.

If I do want WIGETS in my kw list can I put WIGET in my negative kw list or will this stop my ads showing at all?

Google dose consider Widget and Widgets to be seperate keywords, so adding widget as a keyword should not affect the keyword widgets, however "Extended Broad Matching" would allow an advert to appear if the keyword widget as typed into the search bar and the keyword in account the was widgets on broad matching.

i guess what i am trying to say, it i think that you will be ok, but i will not garantee this.
