Domain names as keywords?

I often see in the keyword tool suggestions for keywords such as the following with high search volume:

www somedomainname com

or just

somedomainname com

Questions:

1) Do alot of people really not type in the periods when searching?

2) Or is this from people who typed in the name with the periods and Google just does not show them?

3) If #2, why when I try typing in a popular domain name with periods I never see any ads?

4) In any case, if I want to add them, should I add them with or without periods or both?

IMO u may aswell add them, makes no difference, and some people may type the URL into the search bar so better with than without.
