Adwords Rerral vs Free Result referral

Although my site appear in the top 10 of a search, I still participate in adwords for the same keyword.

Can I differentiate if a click is click from the free results of the adwords by examining the referral in the log files? Or they are exactly the same?

The usual way is to add a query string to the URL that the adwords points at, eg:

[mysite.com...]

You can then manually find it in your log files, and you can set it up so that various stats programs can use this data automatically (no idea how though).
