I run adwords, and i have a lot of groups with the same keywords. Today i noticed that some keywords are disabled (1 red asterix) because of low ctr. Some ads are disabled (2 brown asterix).

Some keywords that are disabled but they have 0 impressions.
The ad also has had 0 impressions.

I'm wondering how is it possible that these keywords/ads got disabled, when they had no impressions.
Note:Some other keywords with no impressions do not have the asterix.

Is overall ctr of keywords calculated per campaign, and not per adgroup? Is that correct?

The way I understand it, impressions shown are for Google only, and it excludes their partners.

Anybody else want to confirm or correct me on this?

No Martini. The impressions shown by Google in the stats are across the whole network, including Google's search partners. The content network impressions are shown seperately.

However, Google does NOT consider the impressions collected over the search network for ad ranking purposes. This is to give a level playing field for all the advertisers, including those who haven't been able to get into AOL/others.

Zero impressions across the whole duration of the campaign? Under campaign details, select ALL TIME and check how many clicks/impressions the keyword received after you inserted it.

Solution: Delete all the keywords with red and brown stars, create a new adgroup for those keywords and make sure your change your ad copy to reflect the contents of the adgroup.

vibgyor79 thanks for the clarification- I had a feeling I was fuzzy on this one. I just called them up to confirm it.

However, Google does NOT consider the impressions collected over the search network for ad ranking purposes.

That is, Google doesn't consider the CLICKS collected across the search network for ad ranking purposes.
