Google Client Center Performance Problems?

Please Tell me I'm Not Crazy!

As much as I did not want to post this, it appears that this is the only option left for me to determine if others are having severe problems with the Google AdWords Client Center Tool.

to Google... sorry to go the forum route, but I need to find out if I am the only one encountering these issues

Is anybody else using the Client Center and having severe performance issues with it?
I mean like 20-40 seconds just to login and go from screen to screen?

I've been working with Google on this for about 2 months and they swear it is a local issue to me -- even though I have tested it from multiple ISPs, using multiple browsers and multiple operating systems and configurations.

Normally, I don't see any major delays with the Google system either through MCCs or direct account access.

The past few days it's taking 30seconds-2 minutes to load a single page change, and I've had a few basic reports take over 20 minutes to run.

I'm guessing it's due to everyone trying to make changes to their account at present, and the server load of Google estimating so many new keywords.

We keep printed lists of where the ads are so we do not have to ever do a search. The largest and best search engine in the world cannot search my adwords account in less then a minute.

Slower then usual latelyb ut I am sure that is load.

For over a week the system has been almost unbearably slow for me. Try accessing it after 10 PM if you want to see some real slowness.

It's to the point where I can't even really use it. I have tried via two different cable modem connections and a DSL line, to no avail.

Performance on my MCC has been poor for the last couple of days but no problems before that. I'm in the UK so may have an advantage of the time difference.

The last few days have been awful though, last night (read when the US is using the system) it took me 6 hours to set up 45 ad groups, that's with pre-written text. 8 minutes for something that should take around 1.

Maybe using the system at off peak may help.

Yeah, I was sorting out all my keywords today after discovering the new AdWords changes - from this forum. No email from Google of course, but that's par for the course isn't it.

It was simply exasperating waiting around for AdWords to complete my requests, so in the end I set Opera to play a sound whenever pages loaded completely - leaving me to get on with other stuff while I waited for AdWords.

Heard that one! Got a great rep trying to pacify me, but when it's this bad and I need it so much I'm not easily pacified.

Reps say It's me, my local issue, all is fine on their end.

I'm finally taking some time to take a look at some of the other threads on this forum, aside from that really active one. ;)

eWhisper... shhhhhh. If you (ye ole senior poster) says that they will believe all is okay.

Hopefully Google will realize there are more that just the few posters here that are likely having issues.

I've made some calls and a few other buddies went back to using individual client logins a month or so back rather than the client center.

I've had an on going email conversation with Google about this and I'm sincerely hoping AWA can get somebody to work with me to get these issues resolved.

In downtown Chicago.
For those on my company IP.
As for the rest of the world,
well, I don't have access to their accounts yet.

Well I've been playing with AdWords again this morning (8:40am GMT) and it's fluctuating a lot, but it's generally a lot better than yesterday. I'm in the UK btw.

Ooh right now I'm getting 1-2 second response times. It's like I got broadband for the first time again :P

MCC is still slow upon logging in, but seems usable.

Certainly an improvement over the stupidity from the last 3 days.

Oh, and please have the API team update the estimator service. It's telling us that keywords will be live that when posted, well, aren't.

Still crawling along for me... 30seconds plus per page. Login was faster then yesterday. And i have not seen a 403 forbidden error today yet.

Well, the 'slow down' seems to have effected me too, as I'm just now getting time to post a few on WebmasterWorld for the first time today. Let's see now, walking in the door to starting to post: 15 hours and 40 minutes. Now that, my friends, is slowness. ;)

Anyway, the bottom line is that engineering is working as a very high priority to improve speed both in the near-term (as you've noticed), and in the long-term as well. I do apologize for the current slowness that some of those with larger accounts are experiencing.

It is so slow - it takes 5 minutes to log into MCC. It is not possible to work with Adwords and manage any campaign right now ... very bad! (and it has been like this for weeks - getting worse just a little bit each day!)

Weíve been having the same problem and have reverted to login in to each individual account rather than going through the MCC. Performance is normal (i.e fast) if you donít use the MCC.

Although having to login in each account is a pain, itís still better than waiting 2-3 minutes every time you click somewhere.

- 35 seconds to logon
- from client center main page, click on Client Reports tab and WAIT 50+ secs.
- from there click on Download Center and WAIT 40+ secs.

Unusable!

In Belgium the login and other actions also takes long to go by...

And now I even got a message that all my ads where shut down because my credit info wouldn't be correct. Just checked my invoices and all is gone...

I just hope holidays are over soon so they wouldn't fiddle with it too much... After all, we are their moneymakers...
