Hi,

I have set up a campaign and google told me to expect around 200 clicks per day and i am getting 6 with nearly 10,000 page impressions!

I can only assume that this is:-

1- because my Ad is badly worded (i don't think that it is)
2- of no interest to the people who i am advertising to (I honestly think that it should be of interest and out of a group of 20 people -outside of google- asked they agree)

are there other reasons for this difference and is google usually this far off with their estimated traffic.

thanks

Well, it's been referred to in the forum many times as the "Traffic Guestimator".

It's simply not reliable for most markets, don't fault yourself, but do take the time to re-evaluate your efforts. You may notice something you hadn't before.

However, in most sectors, you cannot depend on those estimated traffic numbers as meaningful.

gmaretta, try sites like snap.com and #*$!.com, there have been studies where the google and overture traffic guestimators are way off due to not factoring out automatic queries, etc. in my experience these two tend to be much nearer to the truth. Snap.com is free, wordtracker costs ~$8 a day, so try to amass lots of keywords to punch in for a day and it will more than pay for itself.
