Google to Raise Minimum Bid to 10 Cents?

What if they do?

What I'd be curious to know is if Google is planning on raising their minimum bid to $0.10 cents anytime soon? I'm about to launch a big site and if they are going to be raising the minimum bid to perhaps keep in step with overture then anyone looking to start a new campaign would be wise to submit it now and get grandfathered in, rather than getting caught of gaurd and have to pay double later.

As per previous threads - not likely in the foreseeable future.

Yes this has come up before and it is not likely at the moment.

i don't think they will increase the minimum bid, but what if they increase the bid increment (which is currently set at .01)?

I don't think that will happen either. Overture still let you bid up in 1 cent increments.

I find it very unlikely that Google would raise their minimum CPC to $0.10. Hard economics are against this, while many of my keywords are considerably in excess of $0.05 others are simply not profitable for me above this level. Therefore, if Google raised the minimum CPC I would pull some of my adgroups entirely and spend less money with Google as a result.

Google (I hope) realise this, it's one reason why we spend vastly more on adwords than Overture.
