Duplicating campaign for another site kills first site

One campaign supercedes the other

I have two campaigns in adwords two different sites,
we will call them siteA.com and siteB.com

Both campaigns are EXACTLY the same, same keywords, same PPC costs, etc - Exact.

The only difference is that the display ads are totally different as are the display URL and the Destination URL and the daily budget is different.

siteA.com is a campaign that has been running since 12/04

siteB.com is a campaign that is new.

When I start the campaign for siteB.com you no longer see the ads for siteA.com.

They should not be competing with each other as destination URLs and display URLs are totally different.

Any ideas?

That is the way it is supposed to work. Google
will only show one ad per keyword per account,
you cannot just create another campaign with
the same keywords and have more than one ad
show under the same keyword search. Otherwise,
everyone would be doing this and trying to
dominate the search results.

Yeah, your best bet would be to start a second account...prefferably with a different credit card and billing information

Before you whip out your credit card and create another account, you would also do good to notify Adwords Support that you would like to open another account for the purposes of advertising another site. If not, at a later stage they might find you guilty of saturating the keywords with your ads.

Are siteA and siteB different, or just copies of each other/very similar?

Two completely different sites, with two different services.

Two completely different sites, with two different services.

Then, how is happening that they need the exact same keywords!? That's weird.

Couldn't you just add a second add to all the Adgroups in the campaign and change the destination URL to your second website? Or is this not allowed?

Yes, Paul that can be done. I think he wants to get more than one ad on each search page, which isn't allowed within on accout.
