Adwords Conflict with Duplicate Kills SERP?

Adwords Conflict with Duplicate Kills SERP

I have been noticing that for any keyword phrase that I bid on with Adwords and that shows up in a search, any free SERP that I might otherwise get for that keyword phrase is not displayed.

In other words, it seems my Adwords ad kills my SERP for that same phrase+domain.

I have been doing some experimenting and this appears to happen for other companies as well.

Is this common knowledge?

There is no conflict. ADwords will not adversely affect your SERP.

All my sites (many) have an ADwords listing and SERP on the same results page, most all SERPs are top 5.

Google has maintained always that the adwords and SERPs are two seperate things. One does not affect the other.
