Raising the CPC

Hello,
I am trying adwords since several weeks. I started all my ads with a CPC of 0,05. I get sometimes some clicks but since my keywords are expensive, it is not very satisfying because I am mybe on page no. 12 in the search results.
But when I try to raise my CPCs to 0,19 or 0,50 or even higher, the traffic estimator allways shows the same position or estimated clicks like before.

I tried once for several hours but there was no improvement of impressions or clicks or position.

Is this normal or how are you improving your position?

First of all, I don't trust traffic estimator at all. If someone could share some positive experience, that would be nice!
Second, when you do tests, keep them for at least 12 hours (in your case, maybe even 1-2 days). Results that you get after one hour after you raised the bids from let's say 0.05 to 0.5 is NOT the result of that raise, as there is an aaprox 3 hours delay.
Where do your clicks come from? If they come from content, it's another thing...
Make those tests and keep us posted... But keep in mind, that if you are on the 6th page instead of 12th, you will probably still not get any impressions.
And if you have a small number of impressions, other factors can apply.
Good luck!

hello, my clicks come from google search only, I switched off the other two possibilities. Now I will try to raise the CPC for at least one day. Thanks for your tip.
