I have been using adwords for over 3 years. Over the last 3 years, I have created a list of thousands of keywords (using keyword tools, etc.)
The problem I face is: the keywords receiving most clicks are so expensive, they won't be profitable at all and the remaining (thousands) of keywords don't generate enough traffic. I do bid on the expensive keywords but don't get enough clicks because my CPC is not that high.
I want to generate about 10,000 clicks per month (paying roughly 20 cents per click) through my Adwords campaign; unfortunately, I am not reaching this number even after exhausting all the tricks known to me. I get surprised when I hear about people generating millions of clicks from Adwords. I know I am definitely missing something.
One of the mistakes I might be making is in the selection of keywords. How would you go about making a list of profitable keywords for something as common as "credit card." There are millions of competitors for all possible variations of this term.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
