I thought of this because I am not seeing my Google ads from a PC in an office which is located within my target region. The Adwords diagnostic tools show that the adverts should be shown which is comforting, and I suspect that I'm not seeing them because Google doesn't have a listing for the office ISP, or the office ISP is based outside of the region. It would be nice to know for sure where Google thinks I am, and I hopefully this would be an easy coding change for Google to implement.
Thanks for your time.
It would be great if Google could display where it thinks I am currently located. Anywhere within the campaign management area would do just fine. This would help when checking that geographical targeting is working as intended.
Interesting suggestion, rich_b, and I'll be happy to pass it on to the right folks.

I'd also like to be able to plug an IP address, street addres or lat/long into the ads diagnostic tool and have it say whether an ad will display for that user. The IP option is useful because it lets me know whether the IP is being resolved to the right location. The street address and lat/long options are useful because they help me make sure that the areas I want to cover are truly covered (especially with a metro area geo-targeting option).
I realize that even if a location is covered by the geo-targeting area I've selected, a user sitting there may very well not be geolocated to that address (or even to that state). But having this kind of information available would still help with troubleshooting. It would, for example, make it easier to know if an ad isn't showing because of a geolocation error/failure or because the area I've targetted is incorrect...
