Interesting that the exception went through without the need for manual review (however, I'm sure it's in the que).
I was also able todo: Find_More_Information_Here and have it immediately approved (without any .net, .com).
When the ad was on the side, the _ were seen. When the ad was in the top position, they weren't shown.
Seems that either there's a feature I've not seen, or someone's just playing with display URLs and it'll be gone soon.

My prediction: It'll be gone soon. ;)
The policy as regards display URLs has not changed:
* Your Display URL must accurately reflect the URL of your website. If your actual destination URL link is too long for your ad, use a shortened version (such as your homepage) that meets the character limit for this field.
* The Display URL field cannot be used as another line of ad text.
* Your Display URL must include the domain extension, for example: .com, .net, or .org.

Now, 10 days later ads still have not been removed....
ffctas, that is indeed odd - although it is possible that the ads have not been reviewed yet - new and edited ad volume has been pretty high of late.
It is worth saying that when you see things like this that disturb you, you may also want to contact AdWords support, and ask them to take a look into it.
You'd not be the first to do so, believe me. ;)
