Adwords Conversion Statistics for different types of business

Does anyone know where I can get some baseline conversion performance statistics for products/services in different industries when using adwords? or any PPC or web traffic campaign for that matter.

I am working on a project that sells a technical service through the internet with a $60 price point.

A well honed adwords campaign that bids on thousands of targeted phrases, landing pages that are relative to the search inquires would get what? 5% conversion from visitors. 1%?

Any thoughts?

This is so product/service specific that any average is meaningless. We run over 60 PPC campaigns in many industries and countries and conversions range from 0.2% to 10+%.

I would advice you to try it and make sure you have the right measurement in place.
