I am wasting money at the moment on low value enquiries submitted out of business hours.
Also - does pausing the campign regularly effect my position? Any advice gratefully received.
There is not such a feature in Google. The Adwords fellow I believe has stated previously he thinks this is a good idea. I would be suprised 10 years from now if they do not have this option =)

To my knowledge it has no bearing on the performance of your keywords. I have paused numerous campaigns and once I 'unpause' them they pop right back to where they were previously. Someone may have a different experience with this though. From your question, I am assuming you plan to shut adwords down as you leave work each night, just like turning the lights off =)
Thanks for your feedback.
Also - I have another dilemma. My company sells USB pendrives but I only want to appeal to the bulk / corporate market - I don't wish to compete in the retail sector. There are so many individuals out there looking for a single unit and currently eating through my PPC budget like locusts. I have adjusted the wording of the actual advert but I fear I am wasting money on so many browsing retail customers visiting the site.
I have had to narrow down words and be more specific but the number of enquiries has fallen. Any ideas?
Can I set a timer so my budget is spent only between 8.30 AM and 6 PM?
You can do it manually as suggested in the previous post. It is the only way. I used to do that but once my account becomes too large and the effective time varies with the type of industries. I just gave up.
Please, keep it in mind that everytime you pause or reactivate your campaigne, there is a time lag for your ad status to be changed in the partners and content sites.

Pausing will not effect your CTR and Max. CTR, therefore your ad ranking number won't change. However, the ad position will change since the ad position is very dynamic. It's based on the ad pools at the time you reactivate your campagne.

"widget"
"wholesale widget"
People looking for wholesale items, usually know they need to type in 'wholeseller', 'wholesale', etc.
Remember, someone searching for the wholesaler also gets stuck looking at 30 retailers if they don't refine their keyword search.
