Virtual domains and new policy

Just wondering, with Google's new ad words policy, does it ban anything like:

1 affiliate marketing a Website:

affiliatename.merchantname.com

and another affiliate marketing:

2ndaffiliatename.merchantname.com?

Essentially, does the new policy distinguish between virtual domains? Would it be fine for each affiliate to market their virtual domain with similar keywords? Or will google say because they both have the same "top" domain that they are the same?

If this question needs more clarification, please let me know!
Thanks,
Michael
