Dynamic Keyword Insertion Exactly as You Enter the Keyword

Is it possible?

Lets say you want to dynamically insert some kind of abbreviation, PA for example for Pennsylvania, or USA. Is there any way to dynamically insert these so AdWords puts them in as PA and USA instead of Pa and Usa?

Not that I know of.

There was a thread a while ago about using dynamic insertion the exact way you add your keywords to a group (i.e. PA Information, Information USA, etc), and then they dynamic insertion could be set up to use that version of your keyword capatalization - but it's never been implemented.

Wouldn't {KEYWORD}all capitals work?

I don't think so, but if it did and you put "Steelers are best in NFL", you'd end up with STEELERS ARE BEST IN NFL, yes? When the only thing that should be capitalized is NFL. I think..

You're correct, Skibum - that ends up in all caps.

If your keyword list is:
PA, NJ, MD, etc

Then you can do:

Search for {KEYWORD:State Specific} Info.
which will be allowed.

However, in almost all cases, using all caps gets ads disallowed.

If there is any way to get it to insert if just the way it is put into AdWords, the keyword could just be input with the proper caps. On some searches, it looks like this is possible or else people are writing an awful lot of individual ads.

or 50 ad-groups with a single ad-copy for each ad-group.

This is something that I enquired about here a good number of months ago. It wasn't possible then, and obviously isn't possible now (barring the workaround mentioned).

In my sectors TLA's (three letter acronyms) and the like are common. Invariably (and correctly) they are used in CAP's. There are some exceptions however; one non-specific example being mtDNA.

Using dynamic kw's can make my ads look very untidy (& unprofessional) if others are using acronyms in their proper form, eg, - 'mtDNA' and my ad shows 'mtdna' or 'MTDNA'!

Whilst of course we could set up separate, non-dynamic ads for such situations, I have to say that the ability to control case within the dynamic function would actually be very useful indeed...

full ack. Cd, Dvd or Dns just looks silly.

One more thing for AWA to report in his weekly writeup :)
