Can I customize "google_conversion_label" in Conversion Tracking?

"Purchase" "Signup" "PageView" "Lead" and "MyCustomLabel"

So can it be done? I want to track something in addition to what is already being tracked. Can I just drop in "Whatever" and expect it to show up or will it break something at the plex?

Thanks! :)

<!-- Google Conversion Code -->
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
google_conversion_id = 1111111;
google_conversion_language = "en_US";
google_conversion_format = "1";
google_conversion_color = "FFFFFF";
if (1) {
google_conversion_value = 1;
}

google_conversion_label = "PageView";

-->
</script>

If you use the custom tracking setup, Google has a way to seperate out sale, lead, signup, and page views.

The reports aren't set up to use a user defined variable, and even if somehow it was tracked - I don't think you'd be able to run a report to find out the stat for the variable.

Google asks that you don't change the code:
[adwords.google.com...]

However, I don't remember (and this doesn't mean it's not there, I just don't remember) agreeing in any TOS not to change the code.

Of course, if Google doesn't like it, they also reserve the right to refuse service or suspend your account until it's fixed.

Interesting. I was driving today and thinking the very exact same thing.

I usually use 3rd party conversion trackers which work excellent, yet it is nice to see all of the data together within adwords.

Hope someone has done some extensive tweaking and can share their knowledge.
Thanks

Thanks for your comments. I'll put in my $.02 for adding "custom user-specified conversion labels" beyond the four defaults as a feature request since it doesn't seem to be supported. AWA, make it happen, eh? :)

whoisgregg, I was only about 95% certain this was not possible, at present, so I consulted with one of my panel of experts, who confirmed it.

So I took the opportunity to support the idea as one that really makes sense, since I already had him on the line. ;)

And I'll also pass it on to a much larger audience on Thursday, in a weekly Advertiser Feedback report.

Thanks for posting AWA. It's good to get a definitive answer and great that this suggestion will be heard. :)
