Need to understand adwords (as publisher)

Hi I run adsense but I want to understand adwords so I know how the ads are being published on our site.

A few questions:

1. Do adword users actually control which website their ads can be published on or google automatically sets it up for them?

2. Are there options for publishing ads only in certain countries of origin?

3. Is bidding in realtime or a MAX bid per keyword is set at one time?

I would really appreciate someone answering these questions above! Thanks born2run

PS: any other tips from an adsense publisher point of view would be useful also!

No, you cannot select the exact websites. But you can select countries and regions(for searchers), language and whether the ad should only appear on actual search sites or they can also appear on sites with content and having Adsense.

2. Are there options for publishing ads only in certain countries of origin?

Yes.

3. Is bidding in realtime or a MAX bid per keyword is set at one time?

Bids can be changed in real-time. However one sets the max. bid and the your cost is automatically calculated based on some rules.
