Please excuse if this topic has been discussed in another thread -

Anyone know what criteria it takes to get displayed in the vertical ad bar on google.com... rather than the usual horizontal ad bar?

Raising my CPC with a good CTR seems to do it over time........ anyone?

I'm sure you mean the horizontal (at the top of Google SERPS) rather than the vertical ads, right?

Yes exactly... The vertical adword bar(s) that appear above the regular google results.

One of my keywords displays in the vertical adword bar. I notice that if I create a new ad (and it performs better than the one that is already appearing vertical) it usually takes a few days until google starts displaying the new ad vertical

Must have to do with achieving a certain score (CTR * CPC )

Mega,

This is a horizontal line (think horizon)....

You're right, it's a combination of max cpc and ctr.

In the UK I reckon that you need a cpc greater than 8% and max cpc greater than 10p.

Hope this helps.
