Anyone found a way around the annoying 80 character upload limit when doing the star-star syntax for adding new keywords?
Bakedjake, here is one tip that may solve your problem, depending on what exactly you wish to do:
You may enter much longer URLs per keyword using the 'Edit CPCs/URLs' button at the Ad Group level, once the keywords are in your keyword list.
Honestly, I'm not sure for the reason for the character limit you've mentioned - I imagine it is a technical concern. However, I'll certainly bring up the ability to add '**1024characterlengthURL' as a feature request, in the report I'll be sending out later in the day.

I've managed to load up 158 char urls for 204 keyword url combinations. Just did a cut and paste from excel if that helps you out - phrase in column 1, ' ** ' in column 2 and the url in column 3. Give it a go and see if that helps.
I have a little more info on this topic, based on brightspark's comment. One of the tech folks has done some looking into this, and he reports:
I've tested long URLs and got them to save just fine, but I also was able to reproduce the error message by inserting a return in the line. So, if the KW, CPC, and URL are all on the same line, it should work fine. If advertisers are copying and pasting from a text editor, they need to make sure that it doesn't automatically wrap lines by inserting a return - the pasted text has to be very clean.
Hope this gives you something to work with bakedjake. And thanks, brightspark, for your info.
