The most targeted search criteria - disabled

Okay so I have a list of 2000 phrase matched keywords. These puppies are the cream of the crop. If someone is typing this stuff in they are just begging to click on my ads. My adgroups are organized around keywords so this whole section is full of keepers with 5-10% CTR for me.

So I go in today and low and behold almost 600 of them are now disabled with zero impressions. Whats up with that? They have never had an impression over my long 3 week Adword tenure.

I just do not understand. They say pick keywords that are highly targeted, well these babies don't get anymore targeted yet since they are so targeted they may not get an impression except once every week or two.

Is this common? Disabling keywords without them having any impressions? They are not mispelled, copyrighted, just good targeted words.

ugamis1, based on the limited info available here, and if I had to guess what is going on, it'd be this:

The default 'date range' for viewing your stats is 'yesterday'. Thus, when one wishes to look at stats for a different date range, the advertiser has to re-set the date range tool.

I'm guessing that your date range is still set to 'yesterday', or to a particular day, and that if you set the tool to 'all time' you'll see a different story.

<added> On reflection, I also wonder if you really mean the words are marked 'disabled'. Do you mean that they are simply not running, or that they are 'on hold', or something else? Or are they actually marked 'disabled' in the Ad Group view? </added>

Thank you for the follow-up AWA. The date range is set to 'all time.' The keywords are listed as 'disabled' in the ad group view. Virtually all of the 600 have zero impressions.

Thankfully I am not at the point where we are spending thousands of dollars a month (December is our testing phase before January), so I still have time to either delete the adgroup (shrugs, figure something out). I am not in panick mode I guess is what I am saying. For me, the whole system of disabling, on hold, etc. just does not seem intuitive and it seems many others are having the same problems making sense of it all.

Anyways enough about boring Adwords stuff. I was curious about something AWA, when you are promoted to Senior VP of **insert depeartment here** what do you think will happen?

1. Google lets an pretend AWA use your account and continue posting since your name here is almost a brandable item.

-or-

2. Google introduces a new person with a completely different name than AWA?

Thought I would try to ask you something other than the same boring questions you get day in and day out.
