I have one ad with 4 impressions over 2 days and 1 click. Therefore 25% CTR, but now disabled! Budget is OK. Is it because of low number of impressions?

Yeah, I would like to know the answer to this one.

I have had several keywords Disabled with a CTR of over 1%, and some at 2.5%.

are you bidding on potentially dangerous words, eg egg or some other trade mark

No, keywords are nothing out of the ordinary, not dangerous, strange, brand name etc. In fact over 15 of my competitors bid on the same. I have other keywords that have either been disabled or in trial in similar circs but this is the most glaring one.

While disabling some keywords because of low CTR then Google considers only the clicks which have been accrued on Google search listings and not on the partner sites. So you may be seeing overall CTR as 2% or 5% but it is also important from where you are getting the clicks. Suppose you received 10 total clicks out of 1000 impresions. Out of 10 clicks you received 7 from partner sites and remaining 3 on Google search listings then your CTR on Google is 0.3% and on partner sites it is 0.7%. Since your CTR is below required 0.3% then it will go under review process of Google and if it still remains below 0.5% then they will ultimately disable the keyword.

However 4 impressions is too small number to be disabled. Check if you have used same keyword somewhere in the account which has been disabled on previous occassions because of low CTR.

Keywords are also disabled if they do not meet the Google guidelines.

Best way to find out is to mail the Adwords support center.

Did you make sure this keyword is not anywhere else in your account?

I dont use the partner sites so its not that. May be because its been disabled before though on another campaign. Hadnt thought of that one. I'll mail them anyway. Posted here because I usually get a quicker answer,... and a more useful one. Waiting two days for a standard response is a bit annoying. Many thanks.

Frankly, it's surreal and a bit silly to have a discussion about ads/keywords being disabled without wanting to / or being able to say what the ads/keywords/businesses are. How can anyone get/give help under such rules?

I'm sure this is a naive question but I'll take this opportunity to ask once again what etiquette or rule prevents the mention of one's business or keywords? (next time I see the word "widget" I'm going to scream :)! )
Also, what is the rationale for the etiquette/rule?

Yeah, this is really important. You may want to go on a 'search and delete' mission using the "Search my campaigns" tool near the top right of all 'Campaign Management' pages in your account. This'll show you all places that a keyword has been used, in the entire account.

Please note that it is important to delete a disabled keyword in every single place it exists, even if it is within paused or deleted campaigns or Ad Groups.

"Search my campaigns"

Hey AWA, on that note, i've noticed that the search function does not pick up or find the '-' character. This can make it difficult to manage things sometimes.
