Hi,

Im trying to redefine and test my google ads copy and have created duplicate keywords for two ads in a single campaign but each ad has its own ad copy text. The problem is that the original ads is getting say 1000 impressions a day but the new ad is only getting 10 impressions. Is there a reason for this or am i doing my testing wrong?

If I understand you correctly, you've created a duplicate Ad Group in order to test your ad copy? To prevent the same person/company from having 2 (or 10) ads showing for the same search, Google only shows the ad for one Ad Group if you duplicate the keywords.

What you can do to test different ad copy is create more than one ad per ad group. Click through to the keyword level of your campaign, and next to your ad copy at the top there should be a link entitled "Create New Text Ad".

You may also want to turn off the "Automatically optimize ad serving for my ads" in the campaign settings section while you test your ad copy. This will mean that your ads are shown equally, rather than Google picking the best performing ad to show (which could also be your problem).

Hope this helps.
