Hadn't seen a thread yet on optimization techniques for the Ad Automator
datafeed and I thought I would share some of my experiences, and see if
anyone else has more suggestions they would like to share.

Now, we all know this system is pretty new, and still in beta. But it was
made available to us to try out. Additonal features have been added;
such as being able to control the ad text from within the feed itself, etc.

So far, I have not found the magic combination. My CTR is very low and my
first goal was to bring that up to a respectable level. One attempt was to
remove unwanted keywords from the description field, and use the exact
target term in the title field. So far this change has made only minimum
improvements.

I have been using my own ad-text and have not yet tried letting the AA make
it up for me. Has anyone tried this?

Has anyone tried to add negative keywords for their AA campain? It has not
allowed me to do this for some reason...

I would be very interested in other peoples experience with this system...

thanks!

I tried it in early beta and my conversion was horrible, so I stopped it.

You mentioned that they now allow us to ad our own description. Could you let us know how to do that, and what are the other new features?

thanks

You have the option of populating 3 new fields in the datafeed to control the ad text. If they are not included the AA creates its own text.

If you change the feed, the AA team will need to re-approve the feed.
