I have been using adwords for the past 12 months now but have only recently come across this site. After reading some posts I have noticed people keep track of the ip addresses that are clicking on their campaign in order to spot flase click thrus, how is it possible to do this?

It would be a lot of work unless you install some tools. You can look in you server log files and check the IP addresses visiting your site and the referer to see if it came from Google, then you search for that IP address to see if it has ever came back again. As you can see manually, it will be a lot of work, so you need some kind of sofwtare. There are few out there and personally I do not have experience with them to recommend you one.

Also, Google and othe CPC engines have fraud detection programs already. You will only get charged from one IP once every 24 hours.
