Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and have one question. Are you allowed to promote your url with a brand name like google or yahoo in it? For ex:googlecarshoppers.com? Or something similar to this hypothetical example. This is probably a question for "adwordsadvisor". Thanks.
If I've understood you correctly, I'd say that it would be a no go, at least as far as Google is concerned. On the other hand if you have a 'Yahoo Store', that might be a different matter - and addressed on a case by case basis during review.
One key principle to remember is that our user must be taken to where they expect to be taken, when they click on your ad. For this reason, you'll want to make sure that the Display URL (meaning the URL displayed in your ad) is in the same domain as the page our user lands on when they click on your ad.
Make sense?

...What if the display url is actually the name of the company-and the prospect will actually land on a page with that domain name? The url will be the name and company brand and not just a ploy to get clicks...
So, Kobe, it sounds as if your question revolves around a destination URL with the word Google in it, in some context, right?
If that's the case, then I can't really give you an 'always true' answer - because this sort of thing is handled on a case-by-case basis, with a review of the keywords, the ad and the site it links to.
A decision will then be made on the individual case, with the decision point being the potential for confusion.
Since we can't really be specific on this Forum, I'd suggest creating the Ad Group you have in mind, and letting it go through the review process (assuming you already have the domain name you are asking about).
