- How come certain keywords, which I have deleted, still get impressions? I had a set of keywords that I wanted to move from one adgroup to another adgroup. But when search for those specific keywords in google, I still get the old adgroup...and in that adgroup it shows up like this:
(3 deleted keywords) Impressions: 19
What can I do?
- I have read numerous times that it is advisable to have seperate campaigns for content and search. So I did. Before the split-up, I got most impressions and clicks through the content part. Impressions were 16,000 a day. After splitting up content and research campaigns, my content impressions were down to barely 300. And my search impressions were like 10.
What could be the problem?
From what I've read, there are formula to calculate your position, using CTR and maximum CPC etc. But where is the line drawn between showing up at the bottom and not showing up at all:
Sometimes you'll see a list of 7 competing ads, and ad 8 will not make it. Sometimes you will see 3 ads, and 4, 5, 6 and 7 won't make it. What determines whether you end up having a low rank or not being showed at all? What is the 'ranking distance' between your ad not showing up and the the ad showing up at the bottom of the list?
The "(3 deleted keywords) Impressions: 19" thing indicates the impressions that the keywords had when they were running. I'd guess that you've got the whole month or something similar displayed, which would be why the impression count is so much lower on the new campaign: it hasn't had as long yet.
Your right about position being determined by a combination of CTR and max CPC, though I think the exact formula is a mystery.
I understood that ads would show unless there was a problem with them. What is your daily budget set to? If it is too low then your ads will stop showing.
I hope this helps.
