Keyword Ads, for words that do well on normal results.

Should you still keep ads for keywords that have topspot on normal results?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about keeping Google ads for keywords where your site already gets the top spot on normal results?

Especially when there are a number of ppl clicking on the ad. So if it wasnt there, you would loose those ppl clicking on the ad and looking in that area.

or is it a waste of money since most ppl use the normal results area anyway.

what do u guys think? do you leave your ads on?

I continue to advertise on keywords I'm in first position. Two ads are better than one - plus I think the traffic to SERPS vs. adwords are likely two relatively distinct groups of people. (and plus, when your top spot dies, you're still on the page).

I would keep the ads and not be distracted by the SERPs. I do this and see the clicks coming from the ads a lot more than the SERPs (b2b service niche).
