First I have to say great forum and I am sure my weekend will be spent reading about 27000 posts here! My question concerns a new campaign I started 2 days ago. I have 18 keywords and my ad shows up when searched for about 3 or 4 of them. Some of the keywords when searched show only one ad, a competitors, so why would my ad not also be shown below his? Does this mean that he is the only one who gets to show his ad for that keyword? All advice and help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Hey Jim,

Google spaces out showing your ads depending on your daily budget so that it shows evenly in a 24 period, you may want to increase your budget if you want it show up on more searches

Just don't set the budget higher than you can afford to pay because the daily expenditure could jump to whatever you set the budget to.

There's another thing. I wish I could remember the details, sorry to be so totally vague. My ads were not showing and I eMailed Google support. They said something about geographic targeting, I think. Like, because I'm in California I couldn't see my own ad, because...aarrgh...I've forgottten exactly why. I set no geographic limits on my ad targeting, but somehow it perceived my specific server as geographicaly redundant or something? The gist of it was that my ad was displaying normally, no worries. Except when I looked at it. And I do recall it was not a browser issue specific to my computer or anything of that nature.

I know what you mean.
I have to set the 'Display Google tips and messages' in English but even so your ad could be hidden because of the geographic position of your IP-adress you're using.

To get around this problem just must use an anonymous proxy in the country you're targeting.

I hope Google fix this problem in the future.

Hi All,
Thanks for alot of great advice. I have done what you all have suggested but still am not having any luck. I have narrowed down my KW's to 5 and increased my cpc and daily max. According to googles "esimator" all 5 of my keywords should have a 1st placement but only one KW is getting impressions? Is it possible that my campaign in under review or something? I set it up around wednesday last week but I can not see why only 1 of my 5 kw's would get impressions? Thanks again everyone! Have a great day.

When all else fails, send an eMail to Google customer support. Be very specific in its wording. They'll get back to you within a few days.

Is your max bid higher than your daily budget? If so, your ad won't be shown.

Does the traffic estimator think these words will get clicks?

If your keyword contain 'questionable' material (i.e. gun, poker, children, etc) then they will need to be reviewed by the google team before the keywords go live.

Here's a whole host of other reasons as well:

Thank you very much I think I finally understand my issue. My ad must be under review, I placed the ad on Wednesday last week so does it usually take a week or longer just so I know. Also, I must just be lucky with the one KW not being flagged as the other 4 are pending review. Thanks again!

I think reviews get lost sometimes. Once I was waiting for a week+ and it didn't get reviewed. So I contacted google and they apologized and reviewed it right away.
