Hey, I just found an add, claiming i could get an adwords account with €50 for free.

No, it's a common promotion of Googles (although I didn't know they were running one at the mo).

At a lot of these conferences the Google reps hand out these little cards worth €50. ;)

And there's no strings attached? I tried to sign up, but i will not be paying anything myself.

No, just the usual €5 on signup. It's a credit for an initial deposit.

Certainly not a string attached, but still worth noting:

Even when on is using a promotional credit, the new account will not run until a credit card has been submitted.

Entering a credit card effectively activates the account. Then, once the account is activated, the promotional credit will be used first - before your card is billed.
