I was hoping that some pointers for using Power posting could be reviewed

maybe some links to previous posts?

and best practices suggestions on how to use it and WHY / WHEN to use it?

thanks!

I was hoping that some pointers for using Power posting could be reviewed...

and best practices suggestions on how to use it and WHY / WHEN to use it?

As a starting point, howiejs, please follow the link below, from the AdWords FAQ:

I hope others will jump in with their own comments/experiences - but in essence, Power Posting allows you to decide how much you want to pay (as the Max CPC), per keyword - and also allows you to send a user to precisely the right page on your site, per keyword.

This matters, because it allows you to support the keywords that you have deemed most important with the right amount of money to put their ads in the position you want - while spending less for keywords that are less important.

And sending a user to the most relevant page on your site, per keyword, is to your advantage because it means that they don't have to search again for what they have already searched for once.

If you send a user to your homepage, for example, and they have to then search again for the 'fuzzy yellow left handed widgets' that they were looking for to begin with, you may lose them. On the other hand, if you send them to your page with your wide selection 'fuzzy yellow left handed widgets', then you might just have a customer on your hands.

Hope that helps, as a basic overview at least.
