Feature request

Undelete on ads

I did some analyses on one of our older campaigns and found that some of the deleted ads had better ROI than the current set. So I added the ads again. As they need to be reviewed again (yep I mailed support) it will take some time to get them up to speed again.

I would like an undelete ad possibility that would bring the ad back to its previous (approved) state. This would save a lot of time optimizing campaigns and get results much faster.

An interesting idea, Robsp, which I'll pass on.

One thought, though, off the top of my head:

Given that the review/approval process looks at the ad, all keywords, and the page linked to (which could potentially be different per keyword), nothing at all could have been changed in the Ad Group since the ad was deleted in order for a new review to not be required.

As an aside, I really look forward to these Feature Request threads, and hope that all y'all will keep this one active! ;)

AWA,

You can change the page to anything you like after approval anyway and it will be quite a while before anyone notices this.

I have another point that is somewhat more advanced but would be very handy and that is an add effectivity range. It would be great to see which deleted ads have run in which timeframe for optimizing purposes. This could be a checkbox in reporting at ad text next to the adstatus.

Just to add to the Feature requests:

I would like to have the facility to delete completely my deleted campaigns. It's starting to look awfully messy when I log in to adwords now.

Go on, now tell me you can do this anyway and I just haven't worked it out...! ;-)

Additionally, within the reports elements, being able to monitor stats on a country by country basis. I wouldn't even want this daily, but once a month would be very useful.

Yes, I know that I can do this myself by ensuring that clickthroughs are tracked sufficiently, but some of us small time punters to whom adwords is but a tiny part of our job, just don't have the time, resources or even know-how...

Just my tuppence ha'penny worth...

Just select the option "Show only active campaigns" right beneath "All campaigns" and you don't see any deleted or paused stuff. It works for me.

A good feature would be an indicator when you login that tells you which words have recently been disabled; much like Oveture does.

I hate having terms disabled without knowing about it for days.

Robsp; thanks. It was right under my nose all the time - bleedin' obvious but just couldn't see it!

Well, then that's one of my feature requests taken care of already...lol

Good suggestion, which I'll certainly pass on.

In the meantime, Bostonceo, you could be informed of your disabled keywords every day in an email if you were to go to the 'Reports' tab, and create a keyword report for disabled keywords only - then set it up to be emailed daily.

Hope that'll help.

It would be nice to see the start date of each creative to help compare performance. This could be in the form of a 6 digit number, ie 040910

And how about 'pause' creatives?

I'm all for that. It would be a good alternative to an undelete.
