Is there any information in server log referrer strings that show that a user has clicked on an advert rather than an editorial result?

Or is putting a tracking url such as www.mydomain\?campaign=google the only solution?

That's what I do. But the /?ref=google doesn't show up in my logs, just the /?

Ghost,
That sounds like an issue with your metrics reporting tool..sometimes the server is set to ignore anything with a questionmark. Might want to check that and see.

It's a bit weird because when I just looked 80% of the referals *were* showing up with the full URL but the rest just had the /?

But as long as I get the hits I'll not worry too much...
