I’ve been running a very successful PPC campaign for a site that I manage and as it seems the more we grow our visitors/clicks/orders… the more we seem to be growing the amount of click fraud that our ads are experiencing.

Unfortunately it’s been subtle (no dramatic spikes to point the finger at), but a lot of our high ROI keywords have begun to grow in cost to the point that they aren’t even turning a successful ROI anymore. Some of this I’m sure is just higher keyword costs due to increased competition, but I’m also convinced that these new competitors have brought an increased amount of fraudulent clicks with them as our keywords have never returned so low compared to the visitors/costs associated with them.

My question is what kind of strategies, and software are you guys using to detect click fraud. Google’s already been crediting our account for fraudulent clicks on their own, should I also make our account rep aware of this fact to emphasize/encourage more of Google’s help?

What are you using to detect & analyze click fraud?

We've just signed up for with a firm that is suppose to help detect click fraud.

[google.com...]

With August ending today we're planning on comparing the reports the firm provides against the August billings for PPC services. It will be a bit of work to compare the two but if it helps detect fruadulently billed clicks....
