Banned from Adwords

We have been using adwords for over 2 years now but recently our account showed no clicks for a number of days, I contacted ¦Google who told me that due to problems with an adsense programme we could no longer advertise. Following my own investigation I found that our former IT manager had been banned from using adsense on his site because of invalid clicks, I also found that he had opened an adsense account on our site but we have nor ever wanted ads on our site, so we had without our knowldege a very tenuos link to this banned site. I again contacted Google to explain this but they just insist that although I was not the banned publisher because their is a link to him I now cannot advertise, It loks like it is not just our site but me personally as I have not been able to open an adwords account for any of my other sites.

I find this astonishing that I can be personally banned for something someone else has done, Has anyone any views, thoughts or ideas on this.

Thanks

very tenuos link to this banned site

I think the link might be stronger if this person got accepted into adsense using your site and communicated using the domain's email server.

Even if he did, we never actually had adsense on our site, I think he just created the account, the account would have been created in his name not mine. The problem adsense account was a totally different site belonging to him, nothing to do with us, yet it seems that although I am not the publisher of the site that had problems I am getting banned as a result of association. Again my main gripes are that 1) I am not the publisher of the banned adsense account therefore I should not be banned. 2) Adsense has never been implemented on our site and never would have been. 3) That G should be able to see that this is not our fault and should be able to act fairly and with some discretion.

Seems rather extreme to get hit with something like this Paul. Wish I had some suggestions for ya, especially since after counting on the traffic and revenue that sometimes comes from AdWords it can be tough to adjust if it is all of a sudden gone. Sure hope you can get something worked out or if not maybe just double down on the SEO efforts.

Sometimes ya don't realize how much power Google has over a business until a site drops from the index or something like this happens.:(

Hey,

What about using a different CC (Credit Card)? Would probably have to be in a different name or something... Not really sure.

All the Best,

C.K.

Have tried that, they seem to have put a block on my credit card, I cannot even open an adwords account with any of my other sites. In all my time in business I've never come across such a lack of understanding, respect or just plain rudeness in my life. They will not even reply to any of my emails now. It seems to be one rule for the small advertiser and another for the big, I'm sure if we were spending thousands a week we wouldn't be in this position. Our main competitor who does spend large amounts is allowed a pop up on their site, something that is supposed to be against G's terms. Looks like Overture is going to benefit from this now then.

Paul

why not just go to a ppc bid manager and let him deal with the headache.

that is assuming that adwords does make moey for you.

I am amazed at some of the stuff adwords are upto lately judging by posts here, however without full facts from both sides, it becomes very difficult to give advice.

good luck

I have just sent the below to Google via the adwords support from our account area and just received an email back to say that the service is now unavailable, they obviously do not want to discuss the matter with me anymore. Charming.
