Multiple Adword Accounts

Google's Unofficial Policy?

Is it okay to hold multiple accounts held under the same named credit card? I do not wish to have competing ad groups and wish to spend money - will Google have a problem with this? Their T&C seems to learn towards saying no no, but anyone know their unofficial policy?

I do exactly that right now in order to keep client funds separate. Google is introducing an account management function like Overture's, but for the moment separate accounts seem to be the only way to really keep the accounting distinct.

So I am under no immediate threat for any of my 50 accounts to be closed?

Maybe someone else can provide that level of assurance; I certainly can't. However, until they roll out the account management tool, it seems to be almost a necessity to set up multiple accounts in situations where fully separate accounting is needed. It's a pain to manage at the moment compared to Overture's simple drop-down account selector, but it looks like we won't have to deal with this much longer.

I seem to remember someone saying they got permission to do just this. You might want to email them ASAP.

As long as there are not campaigns for the same merchant running in different accounts it should be ok. If company x has 2 different accounts that both contain the same keywords and are therefore double serving, Google will have a problem with it.

Multiple accounts with the same credit card are fine.

If you are serving up the same ads then the same rules apply, so only one ad shows at any time, based on the metrics that apply, i.e. the best ads show more often.
