Am I looking at this right?

If I have a campaign with 5 cent keywords set with a daily budget of $5 will Google spread it out over 24 hours or is it possible it could all get spent in several hours then the ad is turned off?

With such a low daily budget is it possible your ad will NOT show (even when a search on your keyword is done) at times because Google is spreading the budget out over the day?

Yes and yes.

Google tries to spread it out. There are, however, times where your budget may be spent within a few hours.

I'm sure someone else will provide more info on this.

So if I have a good ROI I should probably turn up the daily budget, right?

Some useful AWA info:

About Daily Budget

Take that post into account with this quote:

BTW, I've noticed that if you have a lot of keywords that have CTR of 4% and above, then the system that calculates the recommended budget can be 'fooled' into saying your budget is OK, when in fact your ads may not be showing all the time. This is because the system calculates using a low-average CTR of around 2%.

Yep! Set it to what you're comfortable spending.
