Ok so im starting a website design service and im doing both a local campaign through flyers, business card, and word of mouth in addition to an online campaign using google AdWords.

A few questions.

Is AdWords the right place to be advertising a website design business? And if so what keywords should I be using?

What kind of results can I expect from google AdWords for people looking for a website designer? Do a lot of small businesses use google to search for a company to design their website?

If google AdWords isnt the right way to advertise a website design service, what other methods do you guys recommend?

Thanks for your help in advance.

There are a large number of searches for web design related terms. A few suggestions -

- Create two campaigns, a national campaign and a regional campaign. You might also want to create another campaign targeting other countries.

- Modify a website a little for AdWords. Your goal should be to collect leads. For example - you could have a small 3-4 field form that visitors need to enter to get a quote. Install the conversion tracking code to track the performance of the keywords.

- Start with $0.75 to $1.00 per click and adjust the bid prices based on the campaign results.
