With broad match can you see what impressions you are getting?

Probably a FAQ..

When using broad match is there a technique people use to find out what impressions they are getting so they can determine negative keywords?

eg, if I do "blue widgets" (broad match)

and I am matching

"free blue widgets" .. but nobody is clicking .. is there a way I can find this out?

nope.. you can't see the ones not getting clicked on. What is even worse is that G may have dissabled Broadmatching on some of your words and there is no way to know that either.

Why not add "free blue widgets" and see what your CTR is?

p.s. wouldn't it be great if you could see that? But, I am sure it would give away too much of their 'expanded' broadmatching logic if you could.

If 'free blue widgets' is really getting significant impressions, the Google or Overture keyword suggestion tool would have mentioned it. So before you add 'blue widgets' to your adgroup, just run it through Google and/or Overture keyword suggestion tool to discover negative keywords.

>>> but nobody is clicking

But if somebody clicks on the ad, your log file will show the full keyword.
